The POST at Kaltenkircher Platz is the festival’s central hub. Apart from the pop-up cinemas, both in- and outside, the exhibition hall Open Space, the festival café, the bar and music in the evening, the POST is primarily a place for getting acquainted, having fun and dialogue. Open for all and for free.

On bike or on foot

You can reach nearly all festival cinemas from the festival centre in 10 minutes or less on a bike or 25 minutes or less on foot. The closest StadtRad station is at the S-Bahn station Holstenstraße/Düppelstraße or at Felicitas-Kukuck Straße/Lille Torv at Altona Neue Mitte. Accredited visitors can rent bikes at the info counter (according to availability).

Parking

We recommend coming on bikes, but visitors relying on cars can look in the nearby roads or the Altona Neue Mitte for parking spaces. Unfortunately, many of the nearby parking spaces are already reserved by the residents.

Age restrictions

Admission to all events of Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg is permitted to guests 18 years and older. The age restrictions of the Young Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg Mo&Friese can be found in the respective program information.

Do I need a ticket for the Festival Center?

No! The festival center is open to everyone - all days and completely without entrance fee. Only for film screenings in the cinema "Lampenlager" you need a ticket.

Are there age restrictions for film screenings?

For all screening of Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg there is a general age restriction of 18 years. The Young Short Film Festival Mo&Friese makes different age recommendations for its programs. For this, please check the Mo&Friese program.

Are there reduced ticket prices?

We offer discounted alternatives for all tickets (one-way tickets, 5 tickets, festival pass). You can decide at your own discretion if you want to take advantage of a discount based on your current situation. There will be no control at any point.

Where can I find content notes for the program?

Content Notes can be found for all films and programs in a PDF on our website under "visit". With the help of Content Notes, we mark sensitive content in the film programs that can trigger strong emotional or physical reactions.

Is the festival accessible?

To help you plan your visit, we try to formulate the aspects of accessibility at our festival as precisely as possible. These vary due to the different venues. A list of all general conditions in the participating venues can be found here. At the cinemas that offer wheelchair spaces, corresponding tickets can be booked online; the accompanying person receives a free ticket. What all venues have in common: The films are screened in the original language with English subtitles. Unless otherwise stated, the moderations and film discussions will be in English. The open air on Saturday evening will also be translated into German sign language. The Junges Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg Mo&Friese is German-speaking and offers many programs with translation into German Sign Language and audio description. We are in an ongoing process of becoming more inclusive and welcome feedback in this regard.

Is the festival program available on paper?

Yes, a program booklet with general information about the festival and the program is available free of charge at various locations in the city as well as at the festival in all cinemas and at the festival center itself. Accredited professional visitors will receive a detailed festival catalogue at the start of the festival. Both will also be available online in PDF format as soon as they are available.
