The protection and security of personal data is a high priority for us. Therefore, we strictly adhere to the rules of the newly enacted EU General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO). In the following, you will be informed about what kind of data is collected and for what purpose:

Data transmission /data logging

When you visit this site, the web server automatically records log files that cannot be assigned to a specific person. This data includes, for example, browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address of the requesting computer, access date and time of the server request and the client's file request (file name and URL). We register your accesses for reasons of data security, to ensure the stability and operational security of our systems and to ward off unauthorised attacks. The log data is thus used exclusively for internal purposes; it is not passed on to third parties for commercial or non-commercial purposes.

Use of personal data

Personal data refers to information about your identity, such as your name, an e-mail address or your postal address. Personal data is only collected or processed if you provide this information voluntarily, e.g. as part of a membership application or when receiving the newsletter or when registering for our log-in protected databases, and you have clearly given us your consent to do so. Unless there are necessary reasons in connection with a business transaction, you may at any time revoke the previously granted consent to your personal data storage with immediate effect in writing (e.g. by e-mail or fax). Likewise, each newsletter includes the option to refuse to receive further information and to send a corresponding revocation. Your data will not be disclosed to third parties unless disclosure is required by law.
We use the personal data provided to us exclusively for the agreed use in compliance with the provisions of the DSGVO. We will of course treat your personal data confidentially and will not pass it on to third parties under any circumstances. You can request information about your data at any time or ask for the purposes for which it is used. Please send us an email to datenschutz@shortfilm.com.

Information about the dispatch service provider

The newsletter is sent using the dispatch service provider "MailChimp", a newsletter dispatch platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. You can view the privacy policy of the mailing service provider here: mailchimp.com/legal/privacy. The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a MailChimp is certified under the Privacy Shield agreement and thereby offers a guarantee of compliance with the European level of data protection (privacyshield.gov/participant). The shipping service provider is used on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO and an order processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 para. 3 p. 1 DSGVO.
The dispatch service provider may use the data of the recipients in pseudonymous form, i.e. without assignment to a user, to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. to technically optimise the dispatch and presentation of the newsletter or for statistical purposes. However, the dispatch service provider does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass the data on to third parties.
The newsletters contain a so-called "web beacon", i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the server of the dispatch service provider when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information such as information on the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of the retrieval are initially collected.
This information is used for the technical improvement of the services on the basis of the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour on the basis of their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times. Statistical surveys also include determining whether newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our intention nor that of the dispatch service provider to observe individual users. The possible evaluations serve us much more to recognise the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.
