Ein inklusives Tanzkollektiv steht kurz vor einer großen Theaterpremiere, als eine unerwartete Verletzung – ein verstauchter Fuß einer Solistin – alles infrage stellt. Da die Zeit knapp wird und viel auf dem Spiel steht, muss die Gruppe eine schnelle, einfallsreiche Lösung finden, um sowohl die Aufführung als auch ihre Zukunft zu retten. Der Film verbindet Elemente aus Musical, Dokumentar- und Spielfilm und begleitet die gemeinsamen und individuellen Versuche des Ensembles, mit Misserfolg, Druck und Erwartungen umzugehen. Die Proben werden zu Räumen des Experimentierens und der Selbstermächtigung, da Regisseur Jan Eilhardt den Prozess für Reflexion und Improvisation öffnet. Bad Luck reflektiert die Rolle des Individuums innerhalb des Kollektivs und der Gesellschaft insgesamt. An inclusive dance collective is on the brink of a major theatre premiere when an unexpected injury, a solist’s sprained foot, throws everything into uncertainty. With time running out and the stakes high, the group must find an immediate, inventive solution to save both the performance and their future. Blending elements of musical, documentary, and fiction, the film follows the ensemble’s collective and individual attempts to respond to failure, pressure, and expectation. Rehearsals become spaces of experimentation and self-empowerment, as director Jan Eilhardt opens the process to reflection and improvisation. The film reflects on the role of the individual within the collective and within society at large. In a space where norms are suspended, a heterogeneous field of alliance begins to unfold.
