Bäume im Wind, brechende Wellen am Strand, Lichtspiele, die die Sonne durch Blätter auf den Boden zeichnet, Halme im Schnee, Spanien, Litauen, Niederösterreich. Etwas Magisches, Hypnotisches liegt in diesen Bildern und den Geräuschen der Welt, die sie begleiten, etwas Ungreifbares in den ausfransenden Farben und zitternden Formen. In ihren Erkundungen analoger Farbfilmtechniken widmet sich Viktoria Schmid in Rojo Žalia Blau (Rot, Grün, Blau auf Spanisch, Litauisch, Deutsch) dem Drei-Streifen-Technicolor-Verfahren. In ihrer Hommage sind es statt drei verschieden, zugleich belichteten Filmstreifen ein und der derselbe, mit dem hintereinander (und verschiedenen Farbfiltern) das gleiche Motiv gefilmt wird – auch wenn der Wind jedesmal anders weht. Trees in the wind, waves breaking on the beach, the play of light as the sun filters through the leaves onto the ground, blades of grass in the snow, Spain, Lithuania, Lower Austria. There is something magical, something hypnotic in these images and the sounds of the world that accompany them, something intangible in the fraying colors and trembling forms. In her explorations of analog color film techniques, Viktoria Schmid devotes herself in Rojo Žalia Blau (Red, Green, Blue in Spanish, Lithuanian, German) to the three-strip Technicolor process. In her homage, instead of three different film strips exposed simultaneously, it is one and the same strip with which the same motif is filmed in succession (and through different color filters) – even if the wind blows differently each time.
