Treat It! – How to Turn Your Short Film Idea into a Treatment (registration required)

Anmeldung erforderlich.

Host: Luc-Carolin Ziemann

Registration required

Often, a good film idea is merely a spark: ephemeral, intuitive and yet intangible. This workshop is about turning these sparks into a clear, narratable form: a treatment that can serve as the basis for a script, directorial decisions, team communication, and funding applications.

Based on your idea, it is about working out the core of your story. What is it really about? Which characters or protagonists carry the film, and which conflicts are at its heart? How is the film trying to tell its story? Which images and filmic language do you want to use?

The workshop is open for fictional and material content as well as mixed forms and with its participants; it develops a clear understanding of character and conflict, as well as a structured foundation for the creation of a treatment for one’s own short film.

The workshop is led by the dramaturgist, curator and author Luc-Carolin Ziemann. In her work, she combines artistic practice with analytical development of material and a special focus on narrative precision in the short and long format.

Participation is limited to attendees of the Film School Day and is only possible with prior registration.
