Everything you always wanted to know about analog motion-picture-film – but were afraid to ask: The KODAK industry event opens the door to the world of analog film and celebrates the substandard film.
Different emulsions, formats ranging from 8mm to 65mm, looks, textures, sensitivities: this small strip of celluloid is capable of so much, yet is also extremely versatile in terms of size and sensitivity. Filmmakers who have previously only shot digitally are at times overwhelmed by the formats and film types. We therefore want to shed a little bit of light on color and black-and-white, the difference between Super 16 and Standard 16, 3-perf, and 4-perf in 35mm, and why 18fps became the standard for Super 8.
An event for curious laypeople, beginners, professionals, and everybody who wants to build or expand their basic knowledge of film, or who wants to (re)discover and deepen their love of analog film stock.
