Bei einer Fahrt auf dem Fahrrad durch den Hafen von Rotterdam entdeckt die Filmemacherin Kohlehügel. Kohlehügel? Die hat sie doch schon mal gesehen… Wo? Ja, zu Hause! Und so macht sie sich auf die Reise zurück nach Hause, nach Kolumbien, ins Gebiet der Wayuu. Hier hat der Kohleabbau eine klaffende Wunde hinterlassen und enorme Auswirkungen auf das Leben des indigenen Volkes.
While cycling through the port of Rotterdam, the filmmaker discovers mounds of coal. Coal mounds? She had seen them before... Where? Yes, at home! And so, she sets off on a journey back home, to Colombia, to the Wayuu territory. Here, coal mining has left a gaping wound and had an enormous impact on the lives of the indigenous people.
